Neste dia, pessoas dão as graças com festas e orações.No Brasil, o presidente Gaspar Dutra instituiu o Dia Nacional de Ação de Graças, através da lei 781, de 17 de agosto de 1949, por sugestão do embaixador Joaquim Nabuco, entusiasmado com as comemorações que vira em 1909, na Catedral de São Patrício, quando embaixador em Washington. Em 1966, a lei 5110 estabeleceu que a comemoração de Ação de Graças se daria na quarta quinta-feira de novembro.Esta data é comemorada por muitas famílias de origem americana, por algumas Igrejas cristãs, como a Igreja Presbiteriana.

Charles Chaplin

Charles Spencer Chaplin (1889 - 1977) was an English actor and director, also known as Carlitos in Brazil.

Charles Spencer Chaplin, best known as Charlie Chaplin, was born in London on April 16, 1889. He was consecrated actor, producer, director, dancer, poet, comedian, musician and writer. Through mime and comedy, Chaplin was one of the greatest actors of the silent film era. Charles has always acted in their own movies, and produce, write and direct them as well. It has always been heavily influenced by comedian Max Linder, French Chaplin who dedicated one of his movies. In addition to all their skills, Chaplin was also a talented chess player, coming to face the champion of the United States Samuel Reshecsky.

Charles Spencer Chaplin, ficou mais conhecido como Charlie Chaplin, nasceu em Londres no dia 16 de abril de 1889. Foi consagrado ator, produtor, diretor, dançarino, poeta, comediante, músico e roteirista. Através da mimica e da comédia, Chaplin foi um dos maiores atores da era do cinema mudo.  Charles sempre atuou em seus próprios filmes, além de produzir, escrever e dirigi-los também. Sempre foi muito influenciado pelo comediante Max Linder, frânces a quem Chaplin dedicou um de seus filmes. Além de todas suas habilidades, Chaplin também foi um talentoso jogador de xadrez, chegando a enfrentar o campeão dos Estados Unidos Samuel Reshecsky.

Heitor Villa-Lobos

Outras referências à difícil fase vivida pela família Villa-Lobos são poucas. Sabe-se que, ao terminar seu curso de humanidades, e por pressão materna Heitor Villa-Lobos matriculou-se na Escola de Medicina e cursou ó primeiro ano.No ano de 1903 em diante começam a aparecer referências às atuações de Villa-Lobos como intérprete em clubes e teatrinhos particulares e, posteriormente, integrando-se em pequenas orquestras que animavam sessões de cinema mudo.
